Charter boat captains have different fishing techniques and policies. Any specific questions or concerns that you have should be discussed with the captain or the booking agency before finalizing your booking.

Rates vary from boat to boat, and are directly related to the size and costs of operating the boat.
Rates for exclusive charters range from $400 to $900 for an 8 hour trip.
Rates for "shared" charters range from $100 to $200 per person.
Rates do not include gratuities or state excise tax (4.16%).

An exclusive charter means that only your party will be onboard. This can include up to a total of six people in your party, plus the captain and crew.

A shared charter means that the booking agency or captain arranges for you split the cost of the charter with other people. If you are interested in a shared charter, you should book well in advance to allow time for the booking entity to arrange the charter.

It is best to make reservations ahead of time. This will allow you to better choose the day and boat you prefer.

It is possible that you will be able to find a boat without a reservation to take you out, but maybe not the boat of your choice.

A deposit is normally required. The amount varies, depending on the number of days of your charter and the policy of the particular boat. Most charter operations accept MasterCard, Visa, personal checks, travelers checks and cash. If your plans change and you notify them prior to 24 hours before your scheduled trip, your deposit will be refunded.
